Jennifer Johnson

Jennifer has deep expertise in human rights based policies and programs through her work with NGOs, the U.S. government, state governments, and the private sector. She has worked on policy, developed funding strategies, and through strategic partnerships, has secured millions of dollars for programs that fight human trafficking and support vulnerable populations. With over 10 years of experience with non-profit organizations, she has designed, managed, evaluated, and secured programmatic funding for some of the largest human rights organizations in the world as well as state governments and law enforcement.

She worked for the U.S. State Department for five years shaping policies, developing funding strategies, and building relationships to support vulnerable populations and survivors of human trafficking in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Representing the U.S. government to local governments, partner nations, international organizations (e.g., UNHCR, IOM, UNDP, UNHCRH) and NGOs, she supported sensitive international negotiations.

Jennifer has an MPA from the University of Washington, where she explored the use of technology to advance global development goals and fight human rights abuses, which led to work with the Microsoft Corporation and other large organizations. She later worked with a technology start-up supporting the development of solutions that improved the reporting of gender-based violence, provided critical education reach during the COVID-19 pandemic, and created programmatic monitoring solutions in extremely remote locations.

Jennifer is passionate about helping organizations communicate their unique work and impact to the right audiences, and helping them secure partnerships and funding to expand their reach and impact.
