Jennifer Johnson

Jennifer is experienced with each stage of the grant lifecycle, through her work with non-profits, social enterprises, consulting firms, and the U.S. Government. She has a passion for helping organizations communicate what is unique and important about their work.

Jennifer has led grant research, writing and management through her work with non-profits (World Vision, Mercy Corps, Heifer International and Save the Children) and with Cell-Ed, a social enterprise. She has developed funding strategies (from research through execution), calls for proposals and managed funding as a donor with the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) and with the Microsoft Community Affairs team. She has extensive in-country experience in programs to assist refugees, displaced person, and victims of human trafficking. Her sectors of experience include forced migration, digital inclusion, gender equity, mobile learning and a range of topics related to using technology to advance the global development goals.

Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Oregon State University, a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Washington, a certificate in Russian Studies from the University of St. Petersburg, Russia, and a certificate in forced migration from Oxford University. Jennifer’s consulting clients have included Relief International and the International Potato Center, and through niche consulting groups, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Microsoft Corporation.
